Sustainable Timber Sourcing

One of the cornerstones of our eco-conscious approach is sourcing timber from suppliers accredited by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). This accreditation ensures that the timber used in our projects comes from forests managed responsibly, promoting sustainable forestry practices. By choosing FSC-certified timber, we support the preservation of natural ecosystems and the well-being of forest communities.

Recycling and Reuse

In our ongoing effort to reduce waste and promote resource efficiency, we have set up a retail outlet that serves both the public and trade. In our timberyard in Cold Ashton, we recycle hoarding materials that are no longer needed in our projects. This not only reduces waste but also encourages the reuse of valuable resources, extending the life cycle of materials that might otherwise end up in landfills.

The repurposed timber from our recycling process has been put to some fantastic use, inspiring creative projects from businesses and individuals alike. One of our customers, Arcadian Furniture, has created some stunning pieces using our reclaimed wood. From tables to chairs, their creations are not only beautiful but also environmentally friendly.

In addition to large-scale projects, our recycled timber has also been used for DIY projects. A great example is the construction of a barn, which was built by an individual as a fun and rewarding project.

These initiatives not only help reduce waste but also promote resource efficiency, encouraging individuals to consider alternatives to traditional building materials.

Innovative Biomass Heating

To further reduce our environmental footprint, we’ve implemented an innovative biomass heating system that efficiently provides warmth to our offices. This cutting-edge system optimises energy consumption and, importantly, allows us to achieve a 0% landfill requirement for materials. The biomass heating system is a win-win, providing a sustainable heating solution while drastically reducing our environmental impact.

By turning to biomass, we are diverting organic waste materials from landfills, such as wood chips and other organic matter, and converting them into a clean and renewable source of energy. This not only reduces our carbon footprint but also helps us contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
